The ruling United Democratic Alliance Party (UDA) and the Amani National Congress (ANC) have officially merged to create a single political party.

The newly formed entity, named the United Democratic Alliance Party, was unveiled during a merger event held at Statehouse in Nairobi, attended by President William Ruto and Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi.

“We are happy as UDA because we are no longer the party that locked out the rest of the nation, nor the party of shareholding. You don’t need a certificate of shareholding to join the formation we have unveiled today,” stated Cecily Mbarire, the UDA Chairperson.
