Harambee Stars Drop Further in FIFA Rankings
Kenya’s Harambee Stars have slipped further down the latest FIFA World Rankings following a disappointing run in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
Kenya dropped from 109th to 113th position, losing 6.46 points to stand at 1,178.62 points after their draw against Eritrea. FIFA’s latest ranking was officially updated on October 7, 2026.
The result was particularly disappointing for Kenya, as Eritrea were ranked 184th when the two sides met in Nairobi on September 26.
In the East African region, Uganda remain the highest-ranked team, while Tanzania are ranked just below Kenya.
The latest decline adds pressure on coach Benni McCarthy and his squad as they continue their campaign to qualify for the 2027 AFCON.
