Mung’aro Directs Kilifi Hospitals to Offer Emergency Services Despite SHA System Disruptions

Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro has directed public hospitals across the county to continue providing emergency medical services even when the Social Health Authority (SHA) system experiences technical disruptions.

The directive was issued during a public participation forum in Marafa, Magarini Sub-County, where healthcare challenges emerged as a major concern among residents.

Mung’aro emphasised that patients requiring urgent medical attention should not be denied treatment due to interruptions in the SHA system, directing health facilities to prioritise emergency cases regardless of the system’s operational status.

The governor’s intervention comes amid concerns from residents over access to healthcare services and difficulties experienced when seeking treatment through the SHA framework.
