Crystal Asige Declares Nairobi Senate Bid Ahead of 2027 Elections
Nominated Senator Crystal Asige has announced her intention to contest the Nairobi senatorial seat in the 2027 General Election, citing her legislative work and advocacy for persons with disabilities.
Speaking on Sunday, Asige said her experience in the Senate had equipped her to seek an elective mandate and represent the interests of Nairobi residents.
She highlighted her legislative initiatives, including the Persons with Disabilities Act, and said she had developed seven Bills aimed at protecting citizens and addressing challenges affecting Kenyans.
“Asige anasija kama Senator wa Nairobi 2027,” she declared, signalling her intention to transition from a nominated senator to an elected representative.
Asige also appealed to voters to give her an opportunity to serve, saying her vision was focused on addressing the needs of Nairobi families and the wider Kenyan population.
Her announcement adds her name to the growing list of aspirants seeking the Nairobi Senate seat ahead of the 2027 General Election.
The race is shaping up amid political speculation surrounding incumbent Senator Edwin Sifuna and his possible pursuit of a higher political office.
As the election approaches, aspirants are beginning to outline their ambitions and records as they position themselves for the contest.
