Arsenal had al chance to cement fourth spot by securing a fifth away league win in a row against Aston Villa, the first time they have been on such a run since May 2015.

Mikel Arteta’s men enjoyed a productive afternoon at Villa Park, enjoying the lion’s share of possession in the first half as Bukayo Saka broke the deadlock in the 30th minute with a sublime finish – his ninth Premier League goal of the season. The north London outfit were without first-choice goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale for the trip to the west Midlands following a hip injury.
