5 Die While Crossing Muswii River in Makueni
5 People Killed,11 Rescued After Lorry Swept By Floods At Sultan Hamud, Makueni county. The Kenya Red Cross team has rescued a total of 11 people who had been been onboard a lorry that was swept away at River KwaMuswii.
The 11 were part of a crowd of individuals who had boarded the lorry which was ferrying sand when the incident occurred.
In the widely circulated video, the lorry could be seen stuck inside the flooded waters in the centre of the river.
The clip of the lorry crossing the flooded river on the shallow end captured a group of individuals of more than ten in number seated on top of it moments before it plugin in deep waters.
