Businessman Jimi Wanjigi Ditches ODM Party to Safina Party where he was received by Paul Muite.
Wanjigi says he will seek Safina Party ticket to run for President in August 9 elections. This comes a week after he quit ODM Party.
“Our path for Democracy will not be stopped. Our Dream for the Economic Liberation of Kenyans is more alive than ever & we will achieve that in the Safina Party. The Ark has left the dock & our destination is the Presidency of this great Republic” Said Wanjigi
In his statement, Paul Muite said they have made the right decision by welcoming Jimi Wanjigi to the party.”
Safina Party leader Paul Muite expressed confidence that this time around they were going to win the August General Elections and will stand as a party till the end.
He added that in 2013 he only vied to set a record that anyone who is not from a famous family can also vie for the seat.
“We will stand on our own and no one will force us into pre-election coalitions. I vied for the presidency in 2013 to encourage your children and my children that you don’t have to come from any particular family to contest,” Said Muite.
Safina party Kenya was founded by palaeoanthropologist and conservationist Richard Leakey together with lawyer Paul Muite in 1995.
