Thiago Silva set to leave Chelsea at the end of this season
Thiago Silva will leave Chelsea as free agent the end of the season. The decision has been made, to be confirmed soon. He rejected proposals in January to stay and help Chelsea until the end.
He has hinted that he will leave Chelsea this summer following their FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester City.
The Blues were dumped out of the FA Cup by Pep Guardiola’s men after suffering a 1-0 loss in the semi-final at Wembley.
Silva joined Chelsea from PSG on a free transfer in 2020 and was an integral member of the side that won the Champions League in 2021. He also won the Club World Cup with Chelsea the following year.
The Brazilian is now 39 years old and his current contract at Stamford Bridge is due to expire at the end of June.
Thiago has Fluminense interest since long time but keeping all options open.
