Didas Mzirai among individuals honored by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Mashujaa day 2021
Didas Mzirai Founder of Mucho Mango Limited amoung individual honoured by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Mashujaa 2021. He was honored for his contribution in Empowering and Supporting Rural Small Scale and vulnerable farmers through Social Enterprise; Mucho Mangoes.
He expressed his joy that the Government of Kenya has finally recognize and honor him as a National Hero/Shujaa, and conferred him a Golden Medal of Honor.
In his own words
“Friends, I am so grateful to God. And I am so excited today! You might have seen me on your TV screens yesterday Over the years, I have been serving my Country in different capacities, from grassroots community mobilization and development, to National leadership. Many are times that I have made a lot of mistakes. But the gracious hand and influence of God has provided opportunities and given me the grace to serve my Country with a lot of passion, commitment, and diligence. From a local Youth Leader in Taveta and Taita Taveta County, to serving as a National Youth Leader and President of the National Youth Bunge Association, to Empowering and Supporting Rural Small Scale and vulnerable farmers through my Social Enterprise; Mucho Mangoes. I am glad that the Government of Kenya has today recognized and honored me as a National Hero/Shujaa, and confered me a Golden Medal of Honor. Mucho has been promoting small scale farmers in TaitaTaveta county and Kenya at large. Among the products produced by Mucho mango include Banana floor popularly known as Makafi for making Banana Ugali which is considered a staple food among TaitaTaveta community. It’s also involved in ensuring small scale farmers can meet demand of their products by connecting them to buyers.
