Kenya has lost 1-0 against Mali on world cup qualifiers
Ibrahima Kone of Mali scored againest Harambee Stars 1-0 at Nyayo stadium ending Harambee stars dream to qualify for the world cup.
Mali beat Harambee Stars 6-0 on aggregate. Harambee stars were beaten 5-0 on away game that took place on Thursday. And today they have suffered another defeat at home stadium.
Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga had defended head coach Engin Firat, who was under fire after a 5-0 loss to Mali in a 2022 World Cup qualifier.
Olunga’s defence came as the former Tusker star, Sammy Shollei claimed the Turkish coach was on holiday and he would not criticise FKF, who are allegedly interfering with his job.
“Firat is on holiday and cannot dare speak against the federation because his two-month contract can be terminated at any time. He has to go with what he is told, and he has to field the players he is given, If Firat dares say the office is interfering with his job – because we all know that is happening that it is the office that lines up the squad – he will not say the players did not perform because he will be fired on the spot.” Said Shollei
