Ruto To Slash National Budget By Ksh300 Billion
President William Ruto has instructed Treasury to reduce his predecessor, Uhuru Kenyatta’s, last national budget by Ksh300 billion.
President William Ruto on Thursday instructed the finance ministry to cut 300 billion shillings ($2.5 billion) from the government’s annual expenditure this year.
While addressing Parliament on Thursday, September 29, Ruto added that the Treasury will coordinate work with various ministries to cut down on unnecessary expenditures.
He explained that the budget was high and unsustainable, forcing the government to borrow from other financial institutions.
