Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has announced that Kenyans can now download and print birth certificates online through the eCitizen platform.

The new move eliminates the need for citizens to visit civil registry offices, Huduma Centres, or other government offices to collect the documents physically.

According to Murkomen, the digital service is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to enhance efficiency, improve service delivery, and reduce long queues in public offices.

The development is expected to ease access to birth certificates for thousands of Kenyans across the country by allowing them to conveniently access the documents online from anywhere.
