Harambee Stars captain Abud Omar has responded after a Murang’a Seal player, Victor Haki, celebrated Kenya’s loss to Madagascar at Kasarani Stadium.

Omar termed the act disrespectful, saying football should bring the nation together.

In a statement Omar said: “It’s disappointing to see a Murang’a Seal player (Victor Haki) celebrating after Harambee Stars’ loss yesterday. That shows a lack of respect not just to the team, but to the nation and the game itself. We rise together; we fall together.”

He stressed that Harambee Stars carry the pride of Kenya and celebrating their defeat is a shameful act against the spirit of the game.
