Faith Kipyegon Named Finalist For The World Athlete Of The Year Award.
Two-time Olympic 1500m champion Faith Kipyegon has made it to the final shortlist of five athletes competing for the 2023 Women’s World Athlete of the Year award. Kipyegon secured her spot in the final shortlist after the voting process narrowed down the initial list of 10 athletes.
Faith Kipyegon broke two world records in two weeks.
She became only the second woman in history of athletics to hold both the 1500m and 5000m records.
She also broke the mile world record.
She is the only woman to have broken world records in three different disciplines in a span of six months: Mile, 1500m, and 5000m
The World Athletes of the Year will be officially announced on 11 December, 2023.
