Tragedy as Rachel Wandeto Succumbs to Burn Injuries After Mwiki Attack
Rachel Wandeto, the woman who was brutally attacked in Mwiki allegedly over expressing her political opinion through a tattoo of President William Ruto, has passed away while receiving treatment at Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH).
Rachel suffered severe burns covering nearly 70 percent of her body after unknown assailants allegedly doused her with petrol and set her ablaze in a shocking incident that sparked public outrage.
Earlier, doctors at KNH had assured Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen and Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja that she was receiving the best possible medical care.
However, during a surgical procedure, Rachel reportedly developed serious complications and crashed three times before doctors rushed her to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at around 3am.

She later succumbed to her injuries at approximately 3:45am, with her family already notified of the heartbreaking development.
Investigative agencies have since launched intensive investigations into the attack, with authorities pledging to establish the motive behind the incident and ensure those responsible are brought to justice.
The incident has continued to draw condemnation from leaders, human rights groups, and members of the public, many calling for swift action against politically motivated violence and attacks targeting freedom of expression.
