Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa has proposed an amendment to the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Act, 2012.

In a statement on February 24, 2025, Barasa stated that the proposed amendment aims to enhance inclusivity and representation within the TSC.
“I have initiated the process to amend the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) Act to facilitate teacher representation on the Commission, similar to the arrangements in place for the Judicial Service Commission and the Parliamentary Service Commission,” Barasa said.

The TSC comprises a chairperson whose role is to oversee commission meetings, ensure that the commission fulfils its responsibilities, and represent the commission in national matters related to education.
