Eric Omondi wants counties reduced from 47 to 8
Comedian and humanitarian activist Eric Omondi has disclosed his intentions of initiating a referendum to have the number of counties reduced from the current 47 to eight.
Speaking during an interview, the vocal comedian stated that the idea of creating counties was to devolve resources but it has ended up devolving corruption.
Eric further added that he would be also seeking the removal of the nominated members in the assembly and woman representative position.
“We are going to start a referendum led by Eric Omondi kuondoa the 47 counties. We are going to reduce to 8 counties to be like former provinces. We are going to do away with Senators, Woman Representatives, nominated Members of Parliament, nominated Members of County Assemblies, nominated Senators, hata hao MCAs wachunge sana ju sijaona kazi wamefanya,” Eric said.
