Ruto Dismisses Criticism of Nyamira Railway Project as Propaganda
President William Ruto has defended the railway project in Nyamira County, brushing off criticism as propaganda meant to mislead residents.
Speaking in Ikonge during his tour of the Gusii region, Ruto assured locals the project is genuine and part of the government’s wider plan to boost infrastructure.
He dismissed claims questioning the existence and viability of a rail station in Ikonge, terming them politically driven and inaccurate.
The President reaffirmed his commitment to expanding infrastructure, saying railway development will enhance connectivity, trade, and economic growth in the region.

He added that the government will push ahead with development projects despite opposition.
Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, who accompanied him, echoed the sentiments, stating that political differences will not derail Kenya’s development agenda.
The leaders are on a four-day tour of the Gusii region, launching and inspecting key projects.
