President Uhuru Kenyatta is leading the Kenyan delegation, where he has been calling for the rest of the world to help Africa deal with the effects of climate change. In attendance is the Olympic gold medalist Eliud Kipchoge explained how useful he started using data to monitor his glucose levels, heart rate and sleep as well as developed a shoe that would protect athletes from the hard impact on the ground.

He called on Western countries to share data and innovation to help Africa to deal with climate change.

“Until a few years ago, I trained by listening to what my body was telling me and was successful and won almost every marathon I race in. But when I realised that I wanted to leave a legacy, I knew I needed to do more,” the Kenyan runner said.

Kenya’s forest cover stands at 7.2 per cent but Kenya wants it increased to 10 per cent by 2022.
