DR Congo have qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking their first appearance since 1974 when they competed as Zaire.

The Leopards secured their spot with a 1-0 victory over Jamaica in extra time, courtesy of Axel Tuanzebe’s goal in the 100th minute.

This result brings Africa’s total representation at the tournament to a record 10 teams.
