ODM Launches Road Parade from Nairobi Ahead of Major Kisumu Wabiro Rally
The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party is set to launch a massive road parade from Nairobi to Kisumu ahead of the highly anticipated Wabiro Kisumu Rally scheduled for Sunday, as the party intensifies grassroots mobilisation across the country.
The road convoy is expected to feature senior ODM leaders, youth groups, supporters, and party officials travelling through various towns while rallying support for what leaders have described as one of the party’s biggest political gatherings in recent months.
The planned rally comes amid heightened political activity within ODM and ongoing efforts by party leaders to strengthen unity and consolidate support in its traditional strongholds ahead of the 2027 political season.

Recent mobilisation meetings in Kisumu have brought together party delegates, Members of County Assembly (MCAs), aspirants, and senior officials as preparations for the rally gather momentum. Kisumu Central MP Joshua Oron described the upcoming event as the “mother of all rallies,” saying it aims to reinforce party unity and community cohesion.
ODM leaders have also been engaging boda boda operators and youth groups across Kisumu County in peace and mobilisation campaigns ahead of the event. Organisers say the rally is expected to attract thousands of supporters from different parts of the country, including delegations from Nairobi and the larger Nyanza region.

The rally is also seen as politically significant amid ongoing debates and internal realignments within the party, including activities linked to the ODM-associated Linda Mwananchi movement that has recently held major rallies in Kisumu and other regions.
Security agencies are expected to monitor the road parade and rally closely, although ODM leaders have repeatedly called for peace and urged supporters to maintain calm throughout the political activities.
