Former Nigerian striker Michael Eneramo has tragically passed away at the age of 40 after collapsing during a football match in Kaduna, Nigeria.

According to reports, Eneramo suddenly collapsed just minutes into the second half of a friendly game, with early indications pointing to a suspected cardiac arrest. Despite urgent efforts to revive him on the pitch and subsequent transfer to hospital, he was later pronounced dead.

The news has sent shockwaves across the football world, with the Nigeria Football Federation confirming the incident and expressing deep sorrow over the loss. Football officials described the moment as devastating, extending condolences to his family, friends, and the wider football community.

Eneramo enjoyed a distinguished football career spanning Africa, the Middle East, and Europe. He rose to prominence with Espérance Sportive de Tunis, where he became a fan favorite and prolific goal scorer. Over the years, he also featured for top clubs including Beşiktaş J.K. and Sivasspor, among others.

At international level, Eneramo earned about 10 caps for Nigeria’s Super Eagles, scoring three goals after making his debut in 2009.

Nicknamed “The Tank” for his strength and presence on the field, Eneramo scored over 100 goals in his club career and remained involved in football even after retiring in 2018, reportedly running a football academy in his hometown.

Tributes have continued to pour in from fans, former teammates, and clubs across the globe, remembering him not only as a talented striker but also as a passionate and dedicated figure in the game.
