Ruto’s Meets outgoing AUC chair Moussa Faki in Narok County

President William Ruto has held a meeting with the outgoing chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki.

President William Ruto held a meeting with the outgoing chairperson of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki, in Kilgoris, Narok County.

In a statement released by the president on Tuesday, December 24, he highlighted that their discussions focused on reforms within the African Union.

The Head of State also revealed that the talks included deliberations on the upcoming election of the AUC chairperson, in which former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is vying for the position.

“We are implementing reforms at the African Union’s structure to make it more effective and efficient in pursuing the continent’s interests.

“In Kilgoris, Narok County, met the African Union Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki and discussed, among other things, AU reforms and the upcoming election of the AUC Chairperson, a post that former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is running for,” President Ruto remarked.

Kenya’s Raila Odinga will battle it out with Djbouti’s Mahamoud Ali Youssouf who is seen as his main challenger and Richard Randriamandrato of Madagascar in the race to choose the fifth AU Commission Chair to succeed incumbent Chairperson Moussa Faki.
