AFCON To Get Significant Amount Of Money
The winner of the AFCON Final game between Ivory Coast ‘The Elephant’ who are the hosts against Nigeria ‘Super Eagles’ will get a significant amount of money in the game that will be held tomorrow.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a 40% increase in money for the winner of the cup that will receive USD 7,000,000/=
The second winner of the championship is expected to get an amount of USD 4,000,000/=
CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe said: “CAF has made great progress over the last two years in raising funds for AFCON and all other major tournaments. The winner of the AFCON Final game between Ivory Coast ‘The Elephant’ who are the hosts against Nigeria ‘Super Eagles’ will get a significant amount of money in the game that will be held tomorrow.
“ We have increased the AFCON Winner’s Prize Money to USD 7 000 000 which is a 40% increase from the previous AFCON Prize money. I am confident that part of the prize money will contribute to the development of football and also benefit all football stakeholders, as well as helping our Member Associations in their administration.” said Motsepe.
