Hundreds of TaitaTaveta County Residents Benefit From Free Eye Medical Screening, Eye Care Medicine And Medical Glasses In Marking The World Sight Day.
Hundreds of County residents have today benefited from free eye medical screening, eye care medicine and medical glasses in marking the World Sight Day.
The County First Lady H.E Sabina Mwadime has vowed to support efforts by development partners to improve availability of quality medical services especially at grassroots.
In her speech read by the County Chief Officer of Health Services Philomena Kirote, H.E Sabina said “We are putting key strategies to build new partner relationships and strengthen long-standing ones to transform county healthcare and improve socioeconomic status of our people. Devolution means transforming lives”
Madam Kirote urged residents to make use of eye centre facility at Moi County Referral Hospital – Voi (MCRH-Voi) which is fully equipped with state-of-the-art equipment donated by Australian Government through the Fred Hollows Foundation and high qualified medical professionals led by the County ophthalmologist Asha Udu.
Those with refractive errors were screened and provided with free medical glasses courtesy of Eye Need View.
The eye medical outreach held today at Werugha Health Centre aimed at raising awareness on eye health is courtesy of the Fred Hollows Foundation, Mamujee Brothers Foundation and Ajanta Pharmaceuticals.
