President William Ruto on Friday presided over the swearing-in of three new Cabinet Secretaries at State House, Nairobi.

Mutahi Kagwe was sworn in as next Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development, Lee Kinyanjui as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Investments, Trade and Industry, and William Kabogo as Cabinet Secretary for the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy.

Their appointments were confirmed after receiving approval from the National Assembly, following a vetting process that assessed their qualifications and suitability for their respective roles.

Given their track record in public office, President Ruto expressed confidence in the skills and experience that the new Cabinet Secretaries bring to his administration.

“Without exception, all three of the new Cabinet Secretaries have extensive and diverse experience in both executive and legislative facets of our public service. For this reason, I am confident in the skills and capabilities that they bring to their new roles. said the President.

He also noted that the new members of his executive team will contribute to ongoing initiatives under the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda, which aims to tackle economic challenges.

“I expect you to serve the people of Kenya with dedication, professionalism, fairness, and understanding. We must do more to minimize misunderstandings and enlist all citizens in the collective task of national transformation,” stated Ruto.

Kagwe, Kinyanjui, and Kabogo, who previously served as Cabinet Secretary and Governors respectively, were nominated to the Cabinet in December 2024, when President Ruto announced significant changes in the senior ranks of his administration.
