DCI summoned Gachagua over assassination claims
Director of Criminal Investigations has ordered impeached Deputy President Rigathi Gachagu to record a statement regarding claims that there have been attempts to assassinate him.
The DCI, in a statement, termed Gachagua’s allegations as serious and that cannot be taken lightly.
On Sunday, Gachagua claimed that there were two failed assassination attempts on his life before the impeachment plan was hatched.
Speaking after he was discharged from Karen Hospital, Gachagua said the impeachment came after the assassinations by security agencies failed.
“These are serious allegations emanating from a person of your stature and cannot be taken lightly,” DCI said in a statement signed by J.K Marete.
“In light of the seriousness of this matter, we kindly request your presence on 22nd October 2024 at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters, Mazingira Complex-Kiambu. Road, to formally record your statement to enable prompt and thorough investigations into the matter,” directed DCI.
