Ruto will not win re-election in 2027 – Kalonzo
Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka is actively promoting his candidacy for the 2027 presidential election, asserting that President William Ruto will not win re-election.
Kalonzo who was speaking in Machakos claimed Ruto is a one-term president as he has failed to address pressing issues affecting Kenyans.
Rallying for support from the residents in his bid, Kalonzo emphasized that the time has come for him to take the lead.
“When we tell people Ruto will be a one-term, they start disputing saying this will not happen,” he said. “Times have changed. The time when your vote would matter has come and so Kenyans should not give up on hope.”
Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu who accompanied Kalonzo said he regretted supporting Ruto.
Waititu alleged that the current administration has oppressed the people who voted for it. He assured Kalonzo of his support in his presidential bid.
Kalonzo has joined hands with a section of opposition leaders including DAP-K’s Eugene Wamalwa and Jeremiah Kioni (Jubilee) following the disintegration within the Azimio.
Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s lawyer Ndegwa Njiru on Saturday hinted at forging a union with Kalonzo.
Njiru made the remarks in Kirinyaga at an event attended by Gachagua.
“We want to get organised, we want to talk to Riggy G to go and look for those other friends because we want to form the next government,” he said.
He said the next administration will be formed by Gachagua. “There is a friend who stood with us called Kalonzo, his MPs voted no… we are going to join hands with him,” he added.
