Governor Andrew Mwadime has promised to partner with relevant stakeholders to explore county’s enormous investment opportunities in agricultural, livestock and natural resources.

Speaking today during the Kenya Export Promotion and Branding Agency workshop, Governor Mwadime reiterated that he is willing to support county residents to tap on export opportunities available in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).

“We want to change the story where Taita Taveta county is endowed with numerous natural resources unfortunately people have been languishing in poverty for decades. My Government will countinue strengthening collaborations with development partners for opportunity exploitation to gain economic returns” Said Governor Mwadime

KEPROBA CEO Dr Wilfred Marube emphasized on innovation in value-addition to meet rapidly increasing demand for agricultural, livestock and natural resource products.

“Todays forum is a platform to exchange ideas with manufacturers at the grassroots on tapping value chain opportunities and how to overcome constraints hindering free export trade” Said Marube

Acting County Executive Committee Member for Trade, Tourism, Cooperative Development, and Industrialisation Gloria Monikombo challenged te public to tale advantage of the forum aimed at equipping them with appropriate knowledge on branding, legal procedures, and export market to increase employment opportunities and incomes.

The event was attended by officials from KEPROBA, Kenya Industrial Estates (KIE) and Government, among other Government agencies.
