MPs will vote on the Finance Bill, 2024, after resuming sittings

Speaker Wetangula says MPs will vote on the Finance Bill, 2024, after President William Ruto sent a memorandum indicating he had rejected all clauses. Any member who seeks to overturn the memorandum or any provision must garner 2/3 of the votes.

Says the Bill is in limbo and cannot automatically become an Act within 14 days after being rejected, as widely believed.
