African Union Executive Council agrees to leave the African Union Commission Chairperson role to the East African Community (EAC). 

This comes after AU executive Council of Ministers drops gender rule for African Union Commission chairperson candidates, making it easier for Raila to contest; awaits approval by the AU Assembly.

The club of 55 African foreign ministers unanimously endorsed it’s the turn of Eastern Africa region to submit the AU chair candidates

Foreign Ministers dismiss the rotational gender requirement in the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson race, boosting Raila Odinga’s candidature.

Kenya is set to launch a massive campaign for Raila Odinga, its candidate for AU chairperson. The campaign involves use of key influencers such as former heads of state, ministers, media personalities and academics.
