Aston Villa will play Champions League football for the first time in 41 years next season

Aston Villa will play in the Champions League for the first time since 1983, when it was still the European Cup; Unai Emery’s have secured a top-four Premier League place in his first full season in charge after Tottenham were beaten 2-0 by Manchester City on Tuesday

Unai Emery has enjoyed an impressive first full season at Villa Park, guiding his side to the Europa Conference League semi-finals and now confirming a top-four Premier League spot for the first time since 1996.

The achievement represents only the third time Villa have finished in the top four of the Premier League and first since 1995/96.
