National Assembly approves nomination of Ida Odinga as a permanent representative of Kenya to the UNEP

The National Assembly’s Departmental Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations, chaired by Nelson Koech, had on Tuesday approved Ida’s nomination, noting her leadership experience, environmental advocacy, and integrity.

In an announcement made by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, on Friday, the President said he appointed Ida to the ambassadorial position in recognition of her lifelong service, describing her work as a testament to the highest ideals of selfless leadership, marked by courage and a sustained commitment to advancing women’s education and empowerment.
