Wundanyi Mp Danson Mwashako Flag Off FoodStuff In School Feeding Programme
Wundanyi area Mp Danson Mwashako today on 25th October, 2022 flagged off lorries full of foodstuff in a school feeding program targeting Wundanyi schools.
The feeding programme that will last throughout the term is aimed at cushioning students against hunger at schools.
“Drought and hunger has ravaged our community to a devastating effect, the most affected being our school going children. I am grateful in that a number of my friends including corporates supported my call for food donation. Among them is Kenya Ports Authority which gave me food worth 300,000. Together with other partners we donated food worth Ksh 2.8M to primary schools and selected secondary schools in my Constituency today”
“I also thank the Government through my DCC for considering 11 schools in Wundanyi who also received their allocation earlier today. However we continue urging the government to increase food allocation to Taita Taveta as what we have received so far is very little compared to the population that is a risk of starvation. Any well wisher willing to donate food to my people please feel free to contact me”
Among leaders who joined the area MP include Mr. Maina Ngunyi the DCC Wundanyi SubCounty, Mr. Jilo Nkaduda Sub County Director of Education, the KPA team led by Mr Haji Masemo, headteachers, BOM members and pupils from neighboring schools.
