Wavinya Ndeti, CAS in the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works Quits Uhuru’s Cabinet to vie for the Machakos gubernatorial seat.
Wavinya Ndeti announced her resignation from Uhuru cabinet on Friday, February 4. In her address to the press, Wavinya said she will now focus her energy and time on campaigning to succeed Alfred Mutua as the Machakos Governor.
She thanked President Uhuru Kenyatta for the opportunity accorded to her to serve in the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure.
“Kenya will never be the same again with the infrastructure we have now. We have worked with the President well and I thank him so much, This time around the people of Machakos are ready. They want to take their county back through Wavinya Ndete, who is their daughter; born and bred there,” she stated.
Wavinya had previously contested against governor Alfred Mutua in 2017 via wiper ticket where she lost, coming second.
