The Social Health Insurance Fund becomes operational effective.
The Social Health Insurance Act, 2023, is now in effect. The Act makes it mandatory for all adult Kenyans, including foreigners to be members of the new Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF).
The NHIF is expected to be fully wound up by October 19th, 2024 with all its cash balances being transferred to the Social Health Insurance Fund
