Tanzanian Politician Godbless Lema Blocked from Travelling to Kenya for Treatment

Tanzanian politician Godbless Lema, a member of CHADEMA party, was reportedly barred from travelling to Kenya on Friday, June 6, 2025.

Through a post on his socials, Lema said he was held at the Kenya-Tanzania border for over 4 hours before he was told he could not enter Kenya.

He claimed that his passport was also confiscated in the process, and he was ordered to travel back to Arusha.

The former MP, who was travelling to Kenya for treatment, said he was in pain and had an appointment with his doctor in Nairobi.
