Sifan Hassan went against the odds to win the London Marathon Women’s title despite suffering an injury earlier on. Peris Jepchirchir finished at position 3.

Sifan Hassan wins the 2023 London Marathon in 2:18:34 in one of the most remarkable races in marathon history. Hassan, a world champ at 1500m who had to stop 2x to stretch her quad during mile 12, comes from behind to beat one of the greatest marathon fields ever in her debut.

She bursts away in the last 100m and after stretching out her left side early on in the race, the double Olympic track champion got back to the front

In her first ever marathon, Sifan Hassan beat the greatest field ever assembled, sprinting her way to victory in 2:18:34!!
