Relief For Tuju After High Court Blocks His Arrest
Former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju has secured temporary relief after the High Court granted him anticipatory bail, shielding him from arrest over claims that he faked his own abduction.
In orders issued on Tuesday, March 24, the court allowed Tuju to remain at liberty as investigations continue, setting an anticipatory bond of Ksh200,000 or an equivalent cash bail.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has also suffered a setback after a Nairobi court struck out an application seeking orders to search former Cabinet Secretary Raphael Tuju’s Karen home.
The agency had sought a warrant in a bid to extract CCTV footage as part of ongoing investigations into alleged false information.
