Relief for TTC citizens as Safina Party Leader Jimmy Wanjigi donate 3 lorries of food supplies worth KES 3.6 million
Safina Party Leader Jimmy Wanjigi has donated 3 lorries of food supplies worth KES 3.6 million in a funds drive overseen by H.E. Governor Andrew Mwadime and County First Lady H.E. Sabina Mwadime.
This is a relief to the Taita Taveta County Relief Response initiative that is domiciled by the Office of the First Lady that seeks to complement efforts by the National Government to offer food relief to those hardest hit by hunger.
During the handing over ceremony at ACK St James in Mwatate, Governor Mwadime while accepting the donations, added that this is in line with the Christmas festive spirit.
“ I ask all to embrace neighbourliness during this season. Help those in need, “ the county boss remarked.
County First Lady added that the donations shall help in covering the gap of reaching the 150,000 people who are facing a hunger crisis.
The relief initiative has reached 115 schools and about 1,400 vulnerable community members so far.
