Former prime minister Raila Odinga has broken silence on the ongoing wrangle between President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto over allege impeachment.

Uhuru was reported to have accused Ruto of allegedly planning to impeach him. Ruto, however, watered down the reports and claimed that Raila was the face behind the alleged impeachment plot.

Speaking to the media on Tuesday, March 29,  Odinga denied being aware of any impeachment plans against his handshake partner.

“I am not aware of any claims, so I have nothing to say. What do you want me to say? I do not want to get involved,” the former Prime Minister declared.

This comes a day after Deputy President William Ruto denied the impeachment claims allegedly made by President Uhuru in a meeting with Mt Kenya elders.

In a meeting with elders at the State House on Saturday, Uhuru is reported to have said that his deputy had made plans to impeach him before his term ends.
