An honorary military parade staged at Ithookwe Stadium in Kitui County set the tone for this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, with disciplined formations and patriotic displays adding color and prestige to the national event.

The parade began moments after President William Ruto arrived at the stadium, signaling the official kickoff of the festivities.

The Head of State made his entrance in a unique open-roof presidential vehicle, standing and waving to hundreds of Kenyans who had flocked to the venue from early morning.

After alighting, he proceeded to the main podium, escorted by the Presidential Guard clad in crisp white uniforms.

The President then inspected the parade, paying respect to the military personnel before greeting dignitaries, including foreign leaders and senior government officials.

The Kenya Defence Forces had earlier staged an entry march into the stadium, showcasing the full breadth of the country’s military strength.

Dressed in colorful uniforms, the three wings of the defence forces—the Army, Navy, and Air Force—moved in synchronised formations that captured the discipline and precision of the armed forces.
