Martin Ødegaard Signs New Deal At Arsenal Valid Until June 2028
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has signed a new deal that will keep him at the Emirates Stadium until 2028 and admitted that it a simple choice to extend his stay in north London
The Gunners captain says that it was an “easy decision” to commit his long-term future to the club.
It sees Odegaard extend a journey that began with a loan spell from Real Madrid in the second half of the 2020/21 season. Prior to that he had endured something of a nomadic early career, enduring three separate loan spells away from Madrid after failing to be given a chance to demonstrate the potential that had seen the Spanish giants sign him at the age of just 16.
“Signing a new contract was a really easy decision for me, what we are doing right now as a club is special, and I want to be a part of that”.
“I’m really excited for what’s to come here. I’ve found a place where I can be really settled and call my home”.
“At Arsenal, since the first day, I’ve felt great and this is definitely my home for present and future”.
The 24-year-old Norway midfielder joined the Gunners from Real Madrid initially on loan in January 2021 before signing a permanent four-year deal that August, with a club option to extend his stay for a further 12 months.
