Kenya Kwanza Unveils 5 Members For Ruto-Raila Talks
Kenya Kwanza has unveiled a 5-member team to engage with the Azimio coalition in a bid to resolve the political impasse between the government and the opposition.
Kikuyu MP, Kimani Ichung’wah, who also serves as the National Assembly Majority leader, shared the names in a statement he issued on Wednesday, August 2.

Kenya Kwanza settled on National Assembly Majority leader Kimani Ichung’wah, the Leader of Majority in the Senate, Aaron Cheruiyot, Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar and Bungoma Woman Representative Catherine Wambilianga wrap up the list.
National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah will lead Kenya Kwanza’s dialogue team that will engage with their opposition counterparts. Kenya Kwanza says that the 5-member team has been mandated to engage on a five agenda agreed upon namely;- 1) The reconstitution of the IEBC, 2)Implementation of 2/3 gender rule, 3) Entrenchment of Constituency Development Fund, 4)Establishment and the entrenchment of the Office of the Leader of the Opposition, and 5) Embedment of the Office of the Prime Cabinet Secretary. The ruling coalition maintains that there shall be no discussion of whatever nature on matters handshake or “nusu mkate”.
