Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Housing Hon. James Macharia officially launch 54KM road tarmacking of Mtomwagodi -Msau- Mbale- Wundanyi- Werugha- Mghage- Bura road.

Much awaited Road Launched: The long wait is over. What we thought was a dream has come to pass. Earlier today the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Housing Hon. James Macharia was at hand to officially launch the much awaited 54KM road upgrade to bitumen standard(tarmacking) of Mtomwagodi -Msau- Mbale- Wundanyi- Werugha- Mghage- Bura road. Indeed it has been a long journey, which I am privileged to know.

The CS in his speech summarised this journey for those who cared to listed. By the way did you know that the only tarmack that touches Wundanyi by only 1km was built in the year 1972 under the stewardship of the then MP Hon Danson Mwanyumba. Therefore this is a historical moment for the people of Wundanyi and Taita Taveta County as a whole.

“We are indeed so grateful to the President H.E Uhuru Muingai Kenyatta and His Cabinet Secretary for making this historic milestone a reality.Present were Principal Secretary Prof. Arch. Mwangi Mariga, Chairman KeRRA Board of Directors Prof. Oyuko Mbeche, Director General KeRRA Eng. Philip Kandie, Hon. Andrew Mwadime MP Mwatate, Hon. Jones Mlolwa MP Voi, Stanley Muthama MP Lamu West, Wundanyi Mbale Ward MCA Hon. Stephen Mcharo and Nominated MCA Hon. Hon. Christopher Mwambingu, Madam Rhoda Onyancha County Commisssioner Taita Taveta, WDM-K Secretary General Peter Shambi among other dignitaries. We give God all the Glory.” Area MP Danson Mwashako Mwakuwona
