Ruto officially launch Mtwapa- Kwa Kadzengo- Kilifi (A7) Road Lot 2.

H.E Dr. William Samoei Ruto, President has today 19th November launch Mtwapa- Kwa Kadzengo- Kilifi (A7) Road Lot 2.

The road project is part of the Mombasa-Kilifi (A7) Road and forms part of the Multinational Malindi-Lunga Lunga/Horohoro-Tanga- Bagamoyo East African Coastal Road Corridor. The road which is approximately 40.4km starts at the proposed new Mtwapa Bridge in Mtwapa town.

The road will promote regional integration by improving connectivity between Kenya, Tanzania and Somalia. It will improve traffic flow, traffic safety and level of service through the dualing and expansion of the existing road, as well as enhance Mtwapa’s growing reputation as a a 24 hour trade hub in East and Central Africa.

The County Government will allocate land for the construction of a modern Market in Mtwapa, now that the President has committed Ksh 200million through the relevant Ministries towards the Project.

Kilifi governor Gideon Mung’aro who was grateful for the support that will create a conducive trading environment for thousands of our local small scale traders.

Among those in attendance included Cabinet Secretaries Kipchumba Murkomen (Roads, Transport and Public Works), Aisha Jumwa (Public Service and Gender).
