Maendeleo Chap Chap Party has been blocked from leaving Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Coalition Party.
On Wednesday, June 8, the High Court rejected an application by the Machakos Governor to leave the coalition led by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.
According to the court, the applicant failed to pursue internal dispute resolution and hence the request to leave the coalition was not granted.
“We find that the matter by the complainants before our jurisdiction was prematurely invoked. The preliminary objection by Azimio La Umoja Party and Registrar of Political Parties is merited and upheld. The application by the petitioners is struck out,” the tribunal ruled.
