Machakos Maendeleo Chap Chap governor candidate Francis Maliti has withdrawn from the race just 13 days to the general election.

Maliti shelved his bid on Tuesday, 26th July and declared support for Wiper party candidate Wavinya Ndeti.

He also declared his support for the Wiper party and Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Maliti who is Governor Alfred Mutua’s deputy was seeking to succeed him in the 9th August polls.

His move comes barely two days after his running mate Rose Wambua endorsed Nzioka Waita of Chama Cha Uzalendo (CCU) party.
