Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been picked by the Azimio La Umoja One Kenya Alliance coalition to vie for the Senate Speaker’s position.

Azimio is said to have overturned the Wiper party’s decision that had advised Kalonzo not to vie for the seat.

In the contest, the Wiper leader is slated to battle it out with former Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi  who has the backing of the Kenya Kwanza wing.

Initially, Kalonzo had been in the National Assembly speaker’s race but opted to drop out in fear of being humiliated at the elections set to be conducted on Thursday, September 8.
