Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has been acquitted of misuse of firearm in the shooting of DJ Evolve.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has attributed his acquittal to God in the case where he had been charged with misusing his firearm in relation to the 2020 shooting of DJ Evolve.

The legislator was facing the charges for allegedly shooting the disc jokey in the neck on January 17, 2020, at B-Club entertainment spot in Kilimani, Nairobi.

A magistrate on Tuesday set him free saying the prosecution failed to prove its case. 

“This judgment has gone the way the Almighty God wanted it to go,” Babu said during a media interview at Milimani Law Courts on Tuesday.

However, the lawmaker said his real victory will come the day the DJ, whose real name is Felix Orinda, will regain his ability to walk again.

“The day that I will be victorious is the day that I will see DJ Evolve walk (and) stand by my side,” he said.
